Suzuki Motor
Corporation, founded in 1920, markets its automobiles globally in 127
countries. In addition to automobiles, Suzuki also produces motorcycles,
outboard motors and generators. American Suzuki Motor Corporation was
established in 1985, and in 1989 Suzuki and General Motors Canada formed a
joint venture to produce passenger cars and sport-utility vehicles for both
companies, primarily for distribution in Canada and the U.S. General Motors
currently owns a 20 percent stake in Suzuki.
