Saab, an acronym
in Swedish for Swedish Aircraft Company, was established in 1937. In 1950 Saab
produced its first automobile, and in 1956 Saab made its U.S. debut at the New
York Auto Show. Saab currently produces jet fighters, large trucks, and sells
its passenger cars in the U.S. through Saab Automobile AB, which is currently
owned by General Motors.
