The Daewoo Group
was founded in Korea in 1967 as a small textile exporter. Since then, Daewoo
has grown into a global company with operations in construction, shipbuilding,
consumer electronics and a variety of other services. In 1997 Daewoo Motor
America was created as a U.S. subsidiary of the Daewoo Group, with its first
vehicles going on sale in September of 1998. Daewoo Motor America is currently
marketing three models through more than 200 retailers in select U.S. markets.
